Erotica ball, Torture Garden and Manchester

For a start i can't believe i got up at 8am this morning (having crawled into bed somewhere around 3am!) but here i am doing my duty for IC

Having spent a very sunny afternoon walking around Manchester city center (which is looking pretty marvelous these days) and chatting with friends at the Lifestyles munch (which was well attended as usual - despite the sunny weather) we headed off home for some R&R (and DrWho!) before getting ready for the Erotica ball

i say getting ready - what i mean is me faffing around for an hour or so, and Tanos in and out of the bathroom, changed and ready in less time than it takes me to put on my shoes!

Anyway, suitable groomed we headed back into town at around 10pm. Having heard both bad and good reports from prior attendees i wasn't really sure what to expect, but we walked into a room packed full of a wide variety of people in an equally wide variety of outfits.

i have to admit my very favourite passtime is people watching and if you like people watching then the Erotica ball is certainly the place for it. From pole dancers to Goths, from fetish folks (in a variety of corsettes, latex, rubber PVC) to Dinner Jackets, Dandies and Cavaliers....oh and the most amazing stilt walkers. It was a people watchers dream!!

The stage shows were pretty impressive, with fire, wax and dance sequences (some of which included snakes!)...the music was loud and upbeat (lots of people dancing), we even had Betty Page playing on the TVs for a while.

All in all it was a pretty amazing night and despite seeing a few familiar faces, it was pretty amazing how many obviously BDSM/fetish people were in attendance who we didn't recognise at all. It did make me wonder how many were there who's IC nicks i would recognise though. So just for the record, hands up who was there last night (and what were you wearing?)
